Custom-Built Integration Table

Welding Project

The lab I worked for over the summer purchased a new autonomous vehicle and needed an integration table for it. The table is designed to hold the vehicle and the spare wing and tail pieces for storage and maintenance. I started by modeling the aircraft and all of the parts the table needed to hold in SolidWorks; I was then able to design the table so that everything fit, but without being too large due to limited space. Finally, I ordered material, made an assembly plan, and MIG-welded the table. Once that was complete, I got the table powder-coated and added padding to protect the vehicle where it made contact with the flanges. From the initial project request to final design took less than a week and sourcing materials and fabrication took just over a week, for a two week project turnaround time.
